Try, try again!

This will come across as TMI to most, but it's what's going on with me.

My husband and I have been "trying" to get pregnant for over 2 years now. Now that we have moved and are getting settled, I thought it was ironic that my period was 3 weeks late! I was getting all of the "symptoms" that come with pregnancy (nausea, lightheaded, etc) so I took a test when I was 1 week late- negative. Hmmm...

But, Aunt Flow decided to show up today. So, here we go again! I used to take my aunt showing up as a bed thing, but now I see it as another chance to keep practicing!

Life Goals

Since life is full of "coulda, shoulda, woulda", I'm going to make a list of things I'd like to accomplish before I die. Most aren't completely unrealistic, just unobtainable right now in life. I will add more as I think of them.

1. Make a cd for my daughter of her favorite bed time songs.
2. Join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
3. Own a home.
4. Be debt free.
5. See Europe.
6. Visit Hawaii.
7. Go on a real cruise.
8. Go skydiving.
9. Tour Soldier Field/ visit Chicago.
10. See a play on Broadway.
11. Do something ALONE with my daughter (no step-mom or dad to "supervise")
12. Have more kids
13. Live downtown.
14. Make $100k per year.
15. Have no car payments.
16. See the pyramids.
17. Visit my grandma in PA. (I haven't seen her since 1987)
18. Own a flat screen tv
19. Shopping spree with no monetary limit!
20. Eat a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity in NYC
21. Own my own piano (NOT a keyboard)

Curses

$500 later and our car is now running!

I'm thankful to have a car that runs correctly (it was a gear shift solenoid), but am not liking the unexpected cost associated! We were considering trading in for a newer vehicle, but realized car payments are pretty low now and we can't guarantee that with a newer car.

Life is stressful, but for all the right reasons.

Eddie was bored.

It's not like we hadn't done it before, in fact we do it pretty often. We leave Eddie and Elway alone in the car on cool days. Not a big deal, right?

Well, that has now changed. Ben and I needed out of the house, so we put the dogs in the car and drove out the mall
. Weather was around 62, so it was ok to leave them in a car while we browsed.

An hour later, we come back to the car. No big deal.. until I open up the back door. I noticed my entire scripture case (which is a bag that holds magazines, etc) all over the floor in the back and all over half of the seat. In the middle of
all of this, my bible with a few chew marks and a very chewed on red pencil (used to mark scriptures). I was on the phone with my sister when I got the the car, and the words that came out of my mouth were not pretty (it rhymed with trucker).

I have had these scriptures for 13 years! They even still had my maiden name on them! UGH! I was planning on buying newer, bigg
er ones in a few months and am very blessed that they weren't totally ruined. Here are a few pictures to show the damage.

Oh, and earlier that day (while we were at church) Eddie had somehow gotten down my extra glasses and decided that they would make a good chew toy. I have only worn this pair a handful of times too!
See below:

Needless to say, we are slowly learning with Eddie what to not expect. When you think you have everything put away and up where it can not be reached, he finds it. We have had our doubts about adopting him, but know that we could never give up on him.

Next challenge, getting his barking under control. He's even teaching Elway to bark!

EDDIE!

How can you not love that face??

This is what Eddie looked like when we adopted him from Oregon Humane Society 6 weeks ago. We went in that day just to look and get our doggy fix. We wandered through all of the kennels ooohing and aaaahing over all of the fantastic dogs up for adoption. We had seen "Rags" and we very, very interested (especially since he's a cocker spaniel- my favorite breed) in adopting him. The biggest test was if him and Elway got along. So, we did the meet and greet with Elway and they didn't fight- we called that success!

We adopted him then and there. We renamed him Eddie, after Eddie Royal from the Denver Broncos. Eddie and Elway became instant buddies. The first thing we did when we got home, was cut off most of that long, matted hair! I don't think he had been groomed in several months and it was showing! We had to wait to get him into the groomer, so I grabbed some scissors and a bag and went at it.

Once I finally did get the chance, I took him to PetSmart and told the girl to "shave him naked". He had quite a few scars from the matts, and getting his hair shaved short would help in us being able to see them and care for them. So, he went naked! I happened to have the girls that day and all the 4 year-old would ask was, "Is Eddie going to be naked?" She was so excited to go pick him up and see him!
He looked so much better!!

He's due now for his next trim, and I can't wait!

Having him in our home has been a struggle at times (he's a barker, and Elway isn't) but we are so happy we have him as a part of our home! I look forward to our adventures and being able to teach him tricks! He's gotten "sit" down pretty good.

Here's to Hoping!

Nothing too news worthy has been going on, so I haven't really been on this thing. Two big things are happening/has happened that are somewhat news worthy. (aka, things to chat about).

First is that we moved out of the house we've been staying/watching for the past few months into our own apartment. It is right down the street (literally) and a lot smaller. We went from 6 bedrooms and 3500 sq. ft. to 1 bedroom and 750 sq ft! It's been an adjustment for me! Luckily, the layout doesn't make you feel like if you stand in one spot you can see it all. I'm enjoying getting settled in as much as we can. Moving in depleted most of our bank account, so things like a microwave and groceries will have to wait few weeks. I am loving having a huge, walk-in pantry and large bedroom closet to store things. We will slowly get rid of the cheap, thrift store furniture and get ourselves "real" furniture. It's been hard to get motivated to really get 100% settled. My depression is on overdrive, and not too sure why! I have a lot of days where I physically have no motivation to do anything. Energy levels are really low too. Life is actually very, very good right now and I have no clue why my body is always feeling so drained! Oh well!

My other news is that my whole family was supposed to go to Idaho for Labor Day weekend to celebrate my grandma turning 80 and my sister's birthday on September 5th. My aunt got to talking with my grandma, and found out grandma doesn't want a party- she wants to go to Reno! So, party has been cancelled and they are taking a trip to Reno September 18th! As fun as it would be to join, I'll pass. Instead, I've been talking with my sister, the birthday girl, and planning a trip somewhere. We were going to buy airplane tickets to a random city and just have fun, but I don't think that will happen. It's been thrown around for me to fly to Denver for the weekend, my sisters to fly out here or for us all to meet up in Seattle. Who knows! I'm in the mood to just take a break from life right now.

The day to day routines in life are really taking their toll on me. (as evidenced by my depression kicking back in) I'm mostly looking forward to having someone to go and do things with other than my husband! I want to go window shopping for hours, try on dresses I'll never buy and sit and talk about the recent episode of the Kardashians! Our move has allowed us to stay in the same ward, which will be nice to finally make some friends that live close! Someone else to chat with when I've had a funny moment.

The time will come, and when it does I will blog about it!
